Running multiple Domino Servers on the same IP and NRPC port

For our DNUG Academy lab we need a secondary server for Domino IQ.
The 2nd server perfectly fit on the first machine and just got it's own Docker container and data directory.
But what about the IP address? One way would be to map them to different IP address.
There is an easier way. You can use a NRPC proxy module which works very similar to TLS SNI.
The NRPC Stream module allows mapping by name.
Below you find the extracted config.
Here is the GitHub project: https://github.com/nashcom/domino-nrpc-proxy
-- Configuration --
load_module /ngx_stream_nrpc_preread_module.so;
worker_processes auto;
pid /run/nginx.pid;
events {
worker_connections 768;
}
stream {
map $nrpc_preread_server_name $domino_target {
yoda.academy.dnug.eu 127.0.0.1:1353;
luke.academy.dnug.eu 127.0.0.1:1354;
default: 127.0.0.1:1;
}
server {
listen 1352;
nrpc_preread on;
nrpc_preread_replacedots $NGINX_REPLACE_DOTS;
proxy_pass $domino_target;
proxy_connect_timeout 5s;
proxy_timeout 1h;
proxy_socket_keepalive on;
}
}
