Domino 9.0.1 FP10 IF5 released

Daniel Nashed  2 December 2018 14:44:55
There is a new IF5 which has been just released.
The fixlist shows 5 fixes and some of them could be important for you.
There are two NIFNSF fixes which appear to be critical.
Two others are about issues in special conditions when replicating databases.
And one important fix for compact.

In contrast to the previous IF4 which I did not blog about, this one makes sense to be installed even if you are not using NIFNSF.

Hi Daniel,

thanks for that information.

If got one question about this IF5 and the JVM patch for Notes & Domino 9.0.1 FP 10 - 1.8 SR5FP21.

According to IBM technote https://www-01.ibm.com/support/docview.wss?uid=swg21676322 I have to reinstall the jvm package, after I installed IF5. Is that correct?

"IMPORTANT NOTE: If you receive and apply a Notes client hotfix from IBM, then you must reinstall your current JVM or the latest JVM version available. Notes hotfixes are bundled with the Fix Pack version they are designed for and thus will install and revert the JVM to version provided with the original Fix Pack. "

Thanks and have a nice day!

Sebastian

@Sebastian. Client Hotfixes are currently shipped as a complete installation not as an incremental installer.

So the HF package on client side will update your JVM.

The JVM patch needs to be applied to the shipped version in the HF.

HFs never contain new JVM patches. Neither on server nor on client.

But on servers the HF/IF installer is incremental and does not include a JVM.

Hi Daniel,

Thank you for providing detailed information on latest IF.

Recently we upgraded the server with feature pack 10 with IF5 due to lot of FT issues on application server as per IBM recommendation.

However, we are getting more issues after upgrade.

"[1728:000B-18AC] 01/21/2019 09:59:18 AM HTTP JVM: 635 [Thread-8] INFO org.apache.wink.server.internal.RequestProcessor - The following error occurred during the invocation of the handlers chain: WebApplicationException (404 - Not Found) with message 'null' while processing GET request sent to https://"

Do you have any experience on these kind of errors? I raised PMR and waiting for an update from HCL.

Thank you,

Ashok
